AWC River Stand Up PaddleBoard - July 9, 2022

This clinic was designed with you in mind while following the ACA guidelines. Whether you’re a never-ever or a novice paddler, we’re here to help you get your stand up paddleboarding game on. Stand up paddleboarding is a physically challenging activity. You must be able to carry your board and paddle, walk on rugged terrain, and swim. All students must be at least 12 years of age. This intensive clinic includes beginner intro, intermediate strokes and maneuvers, and SUP yoga-inspired conditioning. You start onshore with “turf” activities by learning the fundamentals of stand up paddleboarding and continue with “surf” on-water activities and drills to master your strokes and maneuvers. If you are up for the challenge, you will learn some of the advanced techniques including cross-board draw, sculling, and blade-in-water recoveries. Throughout the clinic, you will learn how to integrate SUP yoga and cardio into your SUP practice.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are taking extra precautions. We recommend that all participants follow CDC and New Mexico Department of Health guidelines and avoid close contact with other participants unless it’s absolutely necessary. If you are feeling unwell or show any symptoms of Covid-19 on or shortly before the clinic, please stay home. We ask that you please bring a mask in case shuttle drivers are more comfortable with masked passengers.
