Current Weather Forecast

Weather conditions are highly variable and can have a profound effect on your comfort (and even survival) while navigating the Rio Grande.  Be advised that temperatures on the water will often “feel-like” 10 degrees or more cooler than temperatures on land.

Be prepared for what is ahead.  The National Weather Service publishes a current Tabular Weather Forecast, which includes potential temperatures, precipitation, and wind conditions for the Albuquerque area, during the coming 24 hours. This information should prove very useful in planning your river tour.

Winds in excess of 20 mph may seriously affect the time it will take to float from your launch point to landing point, particularly if headwinds are indicated (a southerly wind direction; S, SE or SW).

Temperature and precipitation forecasts will dictate what clothing might be required to for you to stay warm and comfortable throughout your time on-river.

Note the date and time is indicated in the horizontal top line and the temperature, precipitation and wind conditions are found on the vertical axis.  The graphed parameters are color-coded in the upper right-hand corner of each chart.
